Celebrating National Nurses Week 2021
National Nurses Week, May 6-12, is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the work nurses do and bring attention to their needs. Nurses are invaluable in so many ways, from performing essential health care tasks to serving as the human link between patient and doctor.
Why is it even more important to celebrate nurses in 2021?
The pandemic has created even more reasons to celebrate the work nurses do. Nurses are involved in the pandemic at every level: testing, evaluating, treating patients, and now vaccinating the nation. Nurses caring for COVID-19 patients have not only had to make personal sacrifices (risking their health, isolating themselves from families) but also adjusting to ever-changing health recommendations and patient care methods. Nurses have also taken on the invaluable job of being COVID-19 patients’ support systems while they are in isolation.
